Car was running great, stopped and turned off engine for about 30 min. Tried to start car, engine would not turn over at all. Dashboard lights came on as normal. Dome light strong. Acted like I didn't have clutch engaged.
could it be solenoid or starter?

Hi there,
I had this issue recently, nearly got stranded out one night. I remembered that the brake pedal has a plastic piece that engages the brake light relay. Mine was a piece of blue plastic shaped like a pendulum that poked the button on the other side. So I figured the clutch pedal had a similar set-up.
There is a "button" on the back side of the floor board behind the clutch pedal. This plastic piece needs to hit the button to engage the starter relay before the engine will turn over. This is why we have to push in the clutch pedal to start the car.
Mine had disintegrated into bits, saw a piece lying on the floor. So I just shoved a screw in there until I could find the plastic piece. Actually....it's still in there.
Hope this helps.
