    What's a normal compression read 4 a 1997 Spyder Turbo?

    Hello, dudes

I got a Spyder 97 Turbo Convertible automatic. Before I purchased it, I took it to my mechanic for a check-up. He measured the engine compression, and it read 110 even, all four cylinders. As he told me "this is an excellent measurement, like that of a new car", I believed him and got the car.

Recently I got dubious about his assessment and started reading other Eclipse's readings on Web forums, and according to that, the reading of a like-new engine is supposed to be 150-170.

Mine had the engine and turbo renewed 12,000 miles ago, before I got it. The engine and turbo work perfectly, the car almost feels like it flies, when I step on the gas.

Is 110 even a good compression reading, or is it too low (that of an old car, as opposed to a new one)?

I want to know this, because I intend to sell the car, and I've been advertising the car as having a like-new engine, but now I'm not so sure this statement is true.

Thanks in advance 4 any help.

    George.
