I want to swap out my stock shift knob and i'm having difficulty getting the old one off. I've tried twisting counter clockwise till my wrist hurt and i thought i was gonna break something in the car, and i've taken off the shift diagram decal which didn't seem to get me anywhere either.
how do i get this thing off?
any ideas?

The knob I have on mine (not stock) is removed by unscrewing a ring on the lower part of the knob. When the ring falls down, a couple of small allen key holes are revealed. When I loosen them, the knob comes off.

No idea if that's how yours works, but it's worth a look! Hope this helped.
