    Haunted Window
by: Phoebe101 on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 18:41 EDT
I own a 1994 VW Jetta, and I'm having a really annoying problem. My passenger side window periodically rolls itself down while I'm driving. This wouldn't be so bad, but about 90% of the time it won't let me roll it back up. I roll it up, it rolls itself back down. It only happened every now and again a few months ago, but now I have to drive with my finger held on the button to hold it up almost all the time. I just wrestled with it for five minutes trying to get it to stay up - when the car had been turned off! Two important things to note: 1. I'm not anticipating having this car for too much longer, so don't really want to invest too much money into fixing it and 2. The amount I know about cars basically ends at how to drive one.

Can anyone think of a way to stop this from happening? I'm trying to think of a way to just jam down the button (it's freezing cold winter here, I don't need to open and close my windows at all) but can't think of anything.

    Thanks
