I have a 1986 Jetta GLI- Recently it's started running really rough in first and second gear. It jerks when I give it gas, once it gets into the higher gears it doesn't run too bad.. . I was looking at the air filter today and there is lots of oil built up in it.

Does anyone have any advice, idea's or prior experience?
