DTC Troubleshooting: P1351 (15-5), P1352 (15-6), P1353 (15-7), P1354 (15-8)
P1351 (15-5): | No. 1/No. 4 Cylinder Front Ignition Coil Circuit Malfunction |
P1352 (15-6): | No. 1/No. 4 Cylinder Rear Ignition Coil Circuit Malfunction |
P1353 (15-7): | No. 2/No. 3 Cylinder Front Ignition Coil Circuit Malfunction |
P1354 (15-8): | No. 2/No. 3 Cylinder Rear Ignition Coil Circuit Malfunction |
1. | Reset the ECM/PCM. |
2. | Replace the ignition coils of the cylinders that correspond to the indicated DTC with the ignition coils of the other cylinders. Example: If the DTC P1351 (15-5) is shown, replace the front side ignition coils of the No. 1/No. 4 cylinders with the ignition coils of the No. 2/No. 3 cylinders. Perform the same procedure on the rear side. NOTE: The front side ignition coil cannot be interchanged with the rear side ignition coil, as they are different in shape. |
3. | Start the engine, and check the DTC with the HDS or the scan tool. Is DTC P1351, P1352, P1353 or P1354 indicated? YES - Go to then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good ECM/PCM, replace the original ECM/PCM.n NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM/PCM and the ignition coil.n |
