Q.Have a 1995 Mustang Cobra, after supercharging the abs light is sporadic pending on temperature conditions. It is causing havoc on the electrical system due to when it is in the mode of about to go out the abs pump is working and the volt meter jumps to below 8 volts. Ran diagnostic test and it said it was in the front drivers side sensor. Replaced sensor but to no avail. Also read about some kinda of ground wire to abs control unit that may be bad. Any help would be appreciated. Also when you turn the headlights on the abs light goes out then as soon as you turn the headlights off it comes back on. Some kind of short somewhere in the abs system. Checked fluid level for brakes and ground strap from abs motor to frame.

I already checked/done: replaced sensor at front drivers side where code was coming from

Answer it sounds like you have either left off a ground wire during the s/c install or you are using a ground that should be dedicated, have you tied into any wiring for power or ground instead of going directly to the fuse panel/box or directly to ground. I would like for you to check all the power and ground connections under the hood and anywhere else you may have come in contact with, clean any existing ground / power connections while you are looking, alittle maintenance goes a long way. Are the front and rear tires the same circumference? This will cause false activation. Ck the alternator wiring also / 8 volts is not good. Did you install an ignition box as well to keep up with the extra need of s/charging ck these wires as well

Addition Reply to Ford Expert's Post: I checked all the ground wires, cleaned re-installed. Did not tie into any fuses, but I did move battery to trunk, but added extra ground wire to that. Brand new 130 amp altenator installed today to try, but still problem. It only shows 8 volts in that transition area when the engine and outside temp is getting to a certain point and then the light comes on at higher rpm (3000-4000) and goes out at idle. But when going off and on is when you can feel the abs pump in the brake pedal and the volts jump from 8 to normal. It is a weird electrical bug that has been driving me and my personal mechanic (who is also ASE certified) crazy. He is also the mechanic who installed everthing on my car. Thanks for your help!

Answer the only other thing that comes to mind is a short in the harness, you are to have do a wiggle test. Start the engine and work your way thru the harnesses about an inch at a time and bend and twist the harness until you find a concern, then try to isolate it. I know this sounds like a PAIN but it is. And neccessary. I have repaired alot of electrical problems with this procedure, good luck amd let me know if you need further assistance.
