I am having some sort of electrical issue with my Accord

Car: Honda, Accord, 2003, v6     -    Back to Fix-It    -    Honda Accord Repair Manuals

Q.I am having some sort of electrical issue with my 2003 Accord 2dr LX V6. My drivers side head and tail lights are out. I have replaced the bulbs, not it. The electric door locks on the driver's side don't unlock the door. The door latch on the inside driver's does nothing.(Really annoying because i have to roll down the window to open the door). and the window will only roll down sometimes. It is probably to oddest thing of all. If you hold the button down or press it many times it will eventually work. In summary, all of the issues are on the same side of the vehicle. I checked the fuses. Any Ideas?

I already checked/done: Changing bulbs and checking fuses

More Info required OK was there any electronics added to the car prior to this happening? Was the car in an accident?

Addition the car was in an accident over four years ago. The stuff worked after the accident it was just in the past couple of months that things stopped working.

More Info required Ok you need to see if there is power to the headlight and taillights is there power? Sounds like a faulty multiplex unit.

Addition the parking lights work in the front, and the reverse and running lights work in the back its only the brake light. Does that mean there is power?

More Info required Does the high beam on the drivers side work on high beam?

Addition it did for a while and then it stopped. Im actually not sure weather that part of the bulb is blown or if that is all together getting no power. But it did work for a while with the low beam not working.

More Info required The fuse for the headlight is ok? Also how hard was the car hit and was it in the front?

Addition i sill check the headlight fuse now. The airbag popped. But around 25 mph.

More Info required Ok this can be a few different issues let me look a few things up.

Addition i checked all the headlight fuses. All good.

More Info required Ok let me post a schematic for you to check. Sounds like it's posit in drivers inside fuse box.

More Info required OK the most common issue is a faulty drivers door master switch. Theres a multiplex unit in the switch and controls the door lock and windows. As for the headlight make sure its the correct bulb and make sure the new one is not blown.

Addition so i need a new multiplex unit or just a switch? And is this something easy to fix or should i take it to an expert? (do i need to remove panels?)

Answer Honestly I would have the multiplex unit checked its integrated in the drivers door master switch. Its about 75 dollars at a salvage yard. I would start here.
