I already checked/done: Replaced plugs, cap and rotor, fuel filter, air filter, checked coil resistance, injector resistance,

More Info required Do you have spark and fuel pressure?
cab you hear the fuel pump run for three seconds when you cycle the key?

Addition Thank you for answering. I do have spark, and I believe adequate fuel pressure. As I was replacing the filter (fuel) I had my son cycle the ignition and I got about 1 pint in 5 seconds. So I believe everything is okay. I'm trying to get to the main module right now. Cant get it out from behind the dash.

Answer If you canyt get it out just pop it out of the cover and pull it out that way.

Addition Tested resistance and voltage according to shop manual. One test failed. Test voltage on 2&4 term. Om harness. Supposed to be 12v, 0v present. Checked fuse #2. Okay. Tried to crank it over, it gets almost to point where it turns over and fires. Right on edge of firing.

Answer try holding the gas pedal to the floor. Sometimes these will flood and the fuel will wash the rings and they will not have enough compression to start.

Addition That seemed to work! It started up and stayed running. So, why was it so hard to start? Can it be trusted not to do the same? Should I run some injector cleaner? What do you think? Thank you by the way.

Answer these old engines had a habbit of washing the rings when they sit or when they get flooded. Try some "top end cleaner " in the intake or even techron in the gas.
