Q.! am changing a timing belt on a 1998 audi A4 2.8 v6 I downloaded all how to instructions but would like to know if you could give me any advise on this do's or don'ts. I am having trouble finding a lock carrier support #3369. I bought all the parts & tools but can't seem to find that Tool I did not start the job yet. Car has 108,000 miles and the water pump is leaking so the job has to be done I also bought cam seals should I change them if they are not leaking? Thank you for your time

Answer You do not need the lock carrier support tool. It is ok to let it hang, as long as you don't put any extra stress on it, the hose will hold it up. Also, there is no reason to change any seal unless it is leaking. The only 2 tools you will need is the cam timing bar and the cam gear puller.

Addition on a 1-10 scale how hard will this job be 10 being the hardest?

Answer This job is all nuts and bolts. Can be time consuming the first time (should take you five hours, takes me 1 hour). I would say it is a 5, not that hard if you can remember where everyhting goes.
